RHODES

Rhodes

Basking in hot sunshine, Rhodes brims with attractions for beach lovers, sightseers and night owls.

Map of Rhodes
Ixia

This popular resort lies a mere five kilometres from Rhodes Town and overlooks a long expanse of part-sand, part-pebble beach. Everywhere, a holiday mood is evident, with most people spending the day on the beach and experiencing the good selection of watersports on offer. The main coastal road is where most of Ixia’s shops and tavernas are concentrated and you’ll find some excellent restaurants here too. After dark a great variety of music bars, cafés and nightspots gives the whole place a cosmopolitan feel. Rhodes Town is around a ten minute bus or taxi ride away.

Pefkos

Taking its name from the fragrant, pine-studded hillsides enveloping the resort, the traditional Greek village of Pefkos is the perfect retreat for couples and families in search of a relaxing break. Much of the activity here centres round the beach - the sweeping crescent of soft white sands shelves gently into warm blue waters, providing the perfect environment for a selection of adrenaline-charged watersports. Away from the beach, the pace is somewhat slower, however an abundant supply of eateries ensures there is sure to be something within walking distance to satisfy your palate.

Faliraki

Lively Faliraki is the site of one of the most beautiful beaches in Rhodes and is a great choice for anyone who wants a sunand- sand holiday complete with lots of bright lights and action. Venture out onto the water with a whole range of watersports or simply get in some serious sunbathing. The resort centre is as buzzing as the beach, with a variety of shops, tavernas and restaurants to grab your attention. At night, the place gives you every opportunity to dance and party with a wealth of pubs, discos, music bars and clubs.

Factfile Rhodes Town

Rhodes Town offers a choice of beaches where watersports are available, more restaurants than you can count, a great selection of bars and clubs and enough shops for the most addicted shopaholic. Whatever you do, don’t miss the wonderful stonebuilt Crusader fortress with boutiques and bars hidden away in the walls, and rooftop restaurants overlooking tinkling fountains in the old square.

Journey time from airport: 25-30 minutes approx
Lindos

The most photographed place on Rhodes, Lindos has the advantage of overlooking a sparkling blue bay with a wonderful beach, overlooked by the stunning old Acropolis. The village streets weave gently down the hillside in between a collection of houses perched like sugar cubes, so brilliantly whitewashed that sunglasses are essential. The narrow lanes are closed to traffic and tavernas and boutiques overflow onto the pavement.
