MAJORCA
Majorca combines stunning beaches with scenic coves and resorts, ranging from lively Magaluf to laid back Puerto Pollensa.

Alcudia
Alcudia is not only a dream venue for beach worshippers, it’s also packed with culture. Set astride a beautiful bay, the beach is superb: an 11 kilometre long playground of soft silver sand washed by calm waters that are perfect for children. Alcudia has it all, including an excellent range of watersports, opportunities to go horse-riding and fishing too. Apart from that, you’ll find restaurants around the harbourside, and shops, cafes and bars. By night, the pace quickens somewhat, with many discos and bars providing a good choice of entertainment.

Puerto Pollensa
Picturesque Puerto Pollensa is set on the shoreline. The town itself nestles between two mountains and is steeped in charm, with pretty, pastel-coloured cottages, stone buildings and narrow streets. There’s a medieval museum and colourful country market, as well as lots of shops and restaurants, but generally this is a place for a quieter-style of holiday. The beach with its tree-lined waterfront, enticing cafes, restaurants and sandy bays offers windsurfing, pedalos and water-skiing.

Magaluf
With the longest sandy beach in this part of Majorca, Magaluf offers some of the best beach life and is lapped by beautifully clear waters. You will also find lots of cheerful souvenir shops selling locally made leather goods, pots and jewellery, plus bars, cafes and pavement restaurants. By night the resort really comes to life, with a vast array of discos, British-style pubs and nightclubs to see you through til dawn. For family fun and entertainment, you might want to treat the children to a visit to the Aquapark with its daredevil water-chutes or maybe to an afternoon’s go-karting.

Palma Nova
Palma Nova is flanked by two sandy beaches. The seafront has a marina and adding to the fun is a selection of watersports plus a promenade of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. At night, the resort is perfect for partying with pubs, live music bars, discos and bustling entertainment, so some may prefer Palma Nova in the quieter months of May and June.

Cala d’Or
Lying on the island’s rugged east coast, Cala d’Or is one of many picture-postcard sandy coves. Once a fishing village, the resort enjoys a charming setting with rocky coves and sandy beaches. You will also find friendly shops, bars and restaurants with open-air terraces as well as horse-riding, watersports and tennis. The night-life is relaxed with a smattering of discos. Neighbouring coves such as Cala Egos and the Caves of Drach are also within easy reach.
