We have made our Community Fund Awards for February 2012, as detailed below:

63rd Peterborough Scout Troop
63rd Peterborough Scout Troop

Andrew Wheatley, Deputy Store Manager at Mayors Walk Food Store, presents Nathan Binmore of the 63rd Peterborough Scout Troop with a cheque for £300. The Scout Troop have been raising funds to purchase a secure storage container for their equipment and the ACCF donation will help towards the cost.

Bungay Primary School

The children at Bungay Primary School are taking part in a sponsored walk around the town in June and the ACCF were pleased to donate 200 bottles of water for the children to help them along their way. Dean Blyth, Deputy Store Manager (left) and Jacob Hulme, Customer Services Assistant (right) are pictured presenting the bottles of water to the school.

Ramsey and District Stroke Support Group
Ramsey and District Stroke Support Group

Peter Murray, Store Manager at Co-operative Food in Ramsey, presents a cheque for £300 to the Ramsey & District Stroke Support Group who is represented by Mrs Needham, wife of Ron Needham who is the Chairman of the Group. The donation will help to provide support to those who are affected by a stroke who live in the Ramsey and surrounding areas.

Tim Drew, Store Manager at Co-operative Food Store in Orton, presents a cheque for £400 to Laura Higgins. Peterborough Streets is dedicated to providing support and help to homeless, poor and socially excluded people within the Peterborough and surrounding areas and the donation from the ACCF will be used to help run the Day Centre where they provide basic shelter, meals, drinks and shower facilities.

Ian Redhead, Store Manager of Westgate Department Store (centre) presents a cheque for £500 to Bill Bell, Chief Deckhand (left) and Neil Stafford, Coxswain (right) of Blyth All Weather Lifeboat which will be used to purchase lifesaving and personal protective equipment for the crew and trainees.
D.I.A.L. Lowestoft and Waveney

Stephen Brown, Store Manager at Carlton Colville Food Store, presents a cheque for £690 to Margaret Oldhan, Chairman of D.I.A.L. (centre) and Julie Fulbrook, Manager of D.I.A.L. (right). The donation is being used to purchase wheelchairs to help improve their wheelchair loan service in the local community.

15th Wisbech Scout Group

Graham Wallace, Senior Branch Manager, Funeral Group, presents a cheque for £300 to Geoff Wilkinson of the 15th Wisbech Scout Group. This will be put towards the cost of much needed refurbishment of the headquarters building of the Scout Group where they provide many activities to enhance the development of young people.
The Norfolk Hospice

A cheque for £700 was presented by Jamie Twell, Store Manager at Swaffham Food Store, to Jo Pearson, Community Fundraiser of The Norfolk Hospice. The donation will be used to purchase an inflatable marquee which would be used at all the events they attend to promote the care and range of services they provide.
